Just Announced: The 3rd Annual Diamond Dog™ Eating Contest

This 4th of July, six brave souls will compete to see who can eat the most Diamond Dogs™ in 10 minutes. The contestants will be going up against City Pages’ Best Hot Dog of 2012 – the 1/4 Pound All Beef Hot Dog, Wrapped with Pepper Bacon, and Deep-Fried, Served on a Pretzel Bun. Some pretty awesome prizes are up for grabs:

First place winner: Platinum Membership, 10 pairs of tickets to First Ave shows, $50.00 Depot giftcard
Second place winner: Gold Membership, 5 pairs of tickets to First Ave shows, $25.00 Depot giftcard
Third place winner: Gold Membership, 3 pairs of tickets to First Ave shows, $25.00 Depot giftcard
If the winner beats last year’s 10 Diamond Dogs™, they get an extra $500

Think you’re up for the challenge? Submit your name, age and a 2-3 sentence bio to contest@first-avenue.com. We will be accepting submissions from now until Wednesday, June 20 at noon. Contestants will be notified by Thursday, June 21.

Here are the rules:

No restroom trips
No vomiting
Water and other beverages are permissible
Tie breaker: Who can eat the most Diamond Corndogs in a minute

Don’t think you con stomach it? You can still walk away a winner as we’ll be giving away First Avenue tickets throughout the day. And really what’s more patriotic than watching your fellow Americans try to consume as many hot dogs as possible?
